Getting to Buddy's


When arriving by bus please note the following:   

The bus station in Itacare is a bit rubbish, it hasn´t been refurbished since dinosaurs walked the earth and resembles a bleak no-man´s land. Children and other opportunists will hassle you as you step of the bus - don´t panic, they are merely trying to assist you with bag carrying/pousada finding/etc - for a small fee. If you don´t want to utilize their services, don´t feel obliged to.

Although the station itself is only a stones throw from the main street in town, it´s necessary to take a twisty-turny route in order to reach the centre. A taxi will take about forty seconds and cost R$10. Alternatively, just walk, it´ll take about ten minutes. On the way you´ll be propositioned by pousada owners, hammock sellers and blokes selling nuts. You´ll also be asking yourself why this place is so bloody far to walk. It´s not really, but it will seem like it with a heavy backpack after a gruelling bus journey. Stick with it. 

When you reach the main street, just follow it until you reach a right turn. On one corner is a pizza joint called Passarella, on the other is the Acai Cafe. Take the right turn and you´ll see the sign for Buddys.
 

When you get to Buddys - check in, claim your free beer and relax.  You´ve arrived.
